Chinese is a pictographic script, its forms imitating natural landscapes. It has geometric boundary to construct the grid system of Chinese characters. Each word is a composition of several basic building blocks. 

Map is also an arrangement of different landscapes. Different landforms also depend on one another. For example, only with mountains can there be valleys.

This is a “word map”—a map rooted in language, composed through the grid system that shapes each character.
